Wallace House is a self-funded, not-for-profit organisation run solely by volunteers. We rely totally on membership fees, workshop fees, monies from the sale of our arts and crafts, room rental, fund-raising activities and donations to maintain this beautiful facility.

The Society has acquired an irreplaceable collection of two-foot gauge steam, diesel and petrol locomotives and rollingstock, including a variety of line cars.

The Woodworks Museum in Gympie, a joint development with Department of Primary Industries, provides an insight into the timber industry of yesteryear through displays and demonstrations. Features include a steam sawmill, 1925 Republic truck, bullock wagons, blacksmith shop, timber-getters hut and a 619 year old Kauri Pine section.
